chandrakBeing Young and Enjoying it
by Chandra

I am 25. I work 40 hours a week, 55 if you count commute and lunch. I graduated from college 4 years ago this May and I have forgotten how to have fun.

The days of waking up for an 8:00 class, and staying up until 4:30 in the morning are over. I would go to sleep willingly at 10:30 every night if I could. I like sleep. Most nights see me eating dinner, watching "That 70's Show" and some other TV,reading and sleeping. I don't go to bars, or concerts. After an evening of talking about how much we pay for health insurance or mortgage rates with friends, I go home by 10:00 because they have to work in the morning as well.

I also don't spend money on "extravagent" things. I refuse to pay eight bucks for a movie at the cinema. I eat leftovers for days. I buy in bulk and freeze things.

But I have decided to say NO, or rather YES. And I am here to help you. Please try to use these phrases (or something like it) if you don't already:

Yes I will meet you for a drink.
Yes I would love to see the late show.
Yes I know it's 10:30 at night, but I have a craving for buffalo wings.
Road Trip? Let me grab my keys and a toothbrush.
Sure I'd love to go to the concert tonight.

I may be tired the next day, but the smile on my face will be worth it, because I made the concious decision to have fun, act my age, and do my first keg stand.
