Crushed Hope
by Kim
Shivers up my spine,
Twist in a tumble,
Flutter in my belly,
Right before I crumble.
Keep it close and hidden;
A calm sea, a muted soul.
Hope has no net, so there's
Safety in denial.
Hopes are for dreamers;
Sweet dreams do they make.
Dreams are for sleepers;
But sleepers must wake.
Emotions in turmoil;
Many thoughts to be shared.
Risk everything for once,
And pray Hope will be spared.
But disappointment leaves
A bitter taste when I wake.
Inconsolable tears,
Unimagined heart ache.
It hurts to think that
Things will stay the same.
Maintain the Status Quo;
Play the same old game.
To hell with emotion;
So unnecessary.
Not me. Not anymore.
Who needs it anyway?
